Tirana is expected to be the center of citizen protests again today, while at 18:00 PM, the ninth consecutive protest has been announced on "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard.
For more than a week, thousands of citizens have gathered every evening in the capital to express opposition to the government and several controversial projects, with the main demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In the protests so far, participants have marched from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister's Office, holding banners and articulating demands for the cancellation of opposed projects, including that of Zvërnec, as well as for changes in the country's governance.
Part of the rallies were citizens of different age groups, young people, family members, pensioners and activists, who declared that they will continue the protests until their demands are met.
"Rama resign", "The homeland is not for sale" and "New Albania" have been among the most present slogans and banners during the protests held in recent days.
The organizers have announced that the civic movement will continue in the coming days, considering the protest as a reaction to the accumulated dissatisfaction in society.
