The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) candidate for president, Vjosa Osmani, has stated that the Vetëvendosje Movement has no reason to reject her candidacy for another term as head of state.
In a press conference, alongside LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, Osmani stated that the election result is only the first step towards the party's revival.
"It gives us hope that we are on the right path. With more work on the ground and closer to the citizens, I believe that the LDK will continue to rise in the months and years to come," she declared.
Osmani emphasized that the process of LDK's return has just begun, adding that the party has the potential to further strengthen itself on the Kosovo political scene.
"The time for revival has only just begun. There is nothing stopping it," said Osmani.
According to the results of the June 7 elections, the Democratic League of Kosovo has maintained its electoral base and has increased in percentage, ranking third in the country with around 18 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, the Vetëvendosje Movement leads the results at the national level with over 43 percent of the votes counted.
