The Kosovo Police and the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor have announced that they are continuing their actions to protect the integrity of the electoral process and investigate cases related to illegal interference in the elections.
In a joint press release, the institutions emphasize that "during recent weeks, law enforcement institutions have received and processed numerous information related to suspicions of external interference and illegal activities aimed at influencing the free will of citizens during the electoral process."
According to the press release, on May 19, 2026, seven people were arrested on suspicion of criminal offenses related to violating the free determination of voters and exercising political pressure in the municipality of Graçanica.
Also, on June 4, 2026, another person was arrested in the same municipality, on suspicion of receiving and giving bribes in connection with voting.
"These actions demonstrate active efforts to interfere in the elections as well as the determination of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to protect the integrity of the electoral process and to combat any attempt to unlawfully influence the free will of voters," the statement said.
The Police and the Prosecution announce that they are continuing to process other information and monitor activities that may undermine the integrity of the early parliamentary elections of June 7, 2026.
Finally, citizens are invited to "exercise their right to vote freely, without pressure, without fear, without external influences" and to report any suspected cases of pressure, threats or unlawful interference in the electoral process./RTK
