Bardhi: SPAK must again request authorization from the Parliament for the arrest of Balluk

The head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after SPAK has seized a villa that is suspected to be the hidden property of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, registered in the name of former national team captain Igli Tare.

In a post on social media, Bardhi emphasizes that the Prosecution must take new procedural steps, including requesting an arrest authorization from Parliament.

"On February 26, in an interview on News 24, we warned that Belinda Balluku has hidden assets from her corrupt affairs. In just a few months, SPAK has documented 2 hidden assets in southern Albania - 1 300 m² villa for Belinda Balluku and 1 other villa owned by her Secretary General. The truth came out!", writes Bardhi.

He also accuses the government of political protection of senior officials.

"On March 12, Edi Rama defended Belinda Balluku's corruption! The corrupt defend the corrupt!", he adds.

According to Bardhi, SPAK should continue with concrete legal actions against the former deputy prime minister.

"It is now SPAK's duty to re-request the arrest of Belinda Balluku, according to the obligation set forth by law. The time is now!", concludes his reaction.
