
The Central Election Commission held its 61st meeting this year, chaired by Chairman Kreshnik Radoniç. Decisions were made in an electronic meeting.
The CEC, through a press release, announced that it has approved the standard operating procedure for activities at the Counting and Results Center (CRC), which determines the organization, functioning and responsibilities of the CRC during the administration of electoral materials and vote counting. The procedure regulates all stages of the process, from the receipt of electoral materials to the counting, verification, eventual recount, tabulation and publication of results, it writes. RTK.
The CEC also decided that voters registered to vote in diplomatic missions outside Kosovo will be allowed to vote with expired identification documents of the Republic of Kosovo. According to the CEC, this decision comes after similar cases were identified during the voting process in the previous elections for the Assembly of Kosovo.
The operational plan for election day, on June 7, 2026, was also approved at this meeting. The document defines the organization, coordination, and responsibilities of officials engaged in administering the electoral process inside and outside the country, including the preparation of voting centers, the distribution of election materials, the reporting of turnout and preliminary results, as well as the management of operational situations during election day.
The CEC has also approved the conference plan to inform the public about the progress of the electoral process.
On June 6, 2026, for the voting process in diplomatic missions, conferences will be held at 09:00, 14:00 and 20:00, while at 01:00 a media announcement will be issued regarding the completion of voting in diplomatic missions.
Meanwhile, on June 7, 2026, on election day in the Republic of Kosovo, the CEC will hold conferences at 08:00, 11:30, 15:30 and 19:30. The CEC will announce in due time the time of the fifth conference, at which the preliminary summary results of the political entities will be published.
