As fiscal peace has finally begun to be implemented, following the approval of the guidelines, the tax authorities have published a notice warning, among other things, of controls to prevent any attempt to abuse or use this initiative for money laundering.
Earlier, the Financial Intelligence Agency shared the same concern in a letter sent to interest groups.
In a letter sent to the entities reporting to it, the Financial Intelligence Agency, which is the institution that performs the functions of the responsible authority in accordance with Law No. 9917/2008 "On the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism", as amended, has warned to be careful with the implementation of Law No. 84/2025 "On the Fiscal Peace Agreement".
AIF has informed all entities that the law "On the Fiscal Peace Agreement" does not provide any kind of administrative or criminal immunity against taxpayers' actions for money laundering, terrorist financing or any other criminal offense related to the illegal origin of funds or property and therefore does not violate the implementation of any of the obligations of the law for the prevention of money laundering.
