The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, has announced that the draft National Diaspora Strategy 2026–2030, along with the corresponding action plan, will soon be launched for public consultation.
This document comes as a result of the tasks and recommendations left by the 4th Diaspora Summit.
Through a message on social networks, Hoxha announced that the Inter-Institutional Working Group met last week to reflect the suggestions collected, emphasizing that the objectives of this five-year plan touch on several main pillars.
“Such discussions take on real value when they are conducted… together with various interest groups and are oriented towards concrete objectives: promoting investments, preserving and developing the language, culture and national identity, as well as strengthening structured cooperation between state institutions and Albanian communities abroad.”
The Minister underlined that the main goal of the strategy is to create efficient bridges to absorb the brains and capital of Albanian emigration in order to support the country's internal development.
"Only through this cooperation will we be able to create effective mechanisms for the engagement of Albanian professionals in the diaspora, as well as for the transfer of knowledge, expertise and innovation in the function of Albania's development."
The document is expected to undergo a broad discussion phase with experts, diaspora organizations, and citizens, with the aim of being as comprehensive as possible before final approval.
"In the coming weeks, the document will be made public for broad consultation with citizens, diaspora organizations, experts... Because only together, at home and in the Diaspora... can we build a Strategy that defines, at a more ambitious level, the main directions of cooperation... also in service of our major national objective, membership in the European Union."
