CEC certifies 902 candidates from 21 political entities in Kosovo


The Central Election Commission made a decision to certify 902 candidates from 21 political entities for participation in the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, which will be held on June 7, 2026.

The certified candidates represent 17 political parties, 3 coalitions and 1 independent candidate. There are 593 male candidates, while 309 female candidates.

The Central Election Commission made a decision to approve the design and content of the ballot for voting by mail outside Kosovo for the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

The approved ballot will be used only for postal voting, which will begin on May 25 and end on June 6, 2026. According to the Electoral Regulation on registration and voting outside Kosovo, the CEC will ensure that voters registered for postal voting are sent, among other things, the ballot by mail.

In the next item on the agenda, the CEC decided to approve the formula for the composition of the Conditional Polling Station Councils. According to the approved formula, the CEC will appoint 214 members of the Conditional Polling Station Councils in the coming days, who will be nominated by political entities. On election day, conditional voting will be enabled in 52 polling stations, within 38 voting centers, it writes. RTK.

At the previous meeting, through the circular procedure, the CEC approved the formula for the composition of the Polling Station Councils, in which regular voting will take place on June 7. According to the approved formula, the CEC, in the continuation of the process, will appoint 14,500 members of the Polling Station Councils, 1,110 of whom will be reserve members. The members to be appointed will represent the entities participating in the elections and will be responsible for the preparation and administration of the electoral process at the polling stations.

The CEC also decided to approve the formula for the composition of the counting teams in 38 Municipal Counting Centers. According to the formula, the CEC will soon appoint 2,064 members of 508 counting teams, who will be nominated by political entities and who will be engaged in these centers to verify the results of political entities after the counting at polling stations and in counting the votes of candidates for deputies.
