
Acting First Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, participated in the meeting of Foreign Ministers in the "Friends of the Western Balkans and EU Partners" format, which was held at Bratislava Castle in Slovakia.
The meeting was organized by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanár, and was attended by delegations from 13 countries, as well as the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, during the opening session of the forum, dedicated to gradual integration and regional cooperation, Konjufca stressed that Kosovo remains ready to obtain candidate country status and launch negotiations for membership in the European Union, writes RTK.
In the second session, focused on security as a new dimension of European integration, he emphasized the importance of the gradual integration of the Western Balkan countries into the European security architecture.
Konjufca spoke about the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense, cybersecurity and interoperability with NATO standards, adding that the membership of countries in the region that are not yet part of the Alliance remains a strategic interest for the stability of the Western Balkans and Europe.
Finally, he reiterated Kosovo's commitment to deepening cooperation with European partners and advancing the integration process into the European Union.
