Transparency Board has decided on April 15, 2026, a new reduction in fuel prices in the country.
According to the decision, the ceiling prices are set as follows:
- Gasoil (diesel):
- Retail: no more than 207 lek/liter
- Wholesale: no more than 195 lek/liter
- Gasoline:
- Retail: no more than 174 lek/liter
- Wholesale: no more than 162 lek/liter
The new prices came into effect today, April 15, at 13:30 PM and will remain in effect until the next board meeting, where the next changes in the market will be reflected.
The authorities call on all wholesale and retail operators to strictly implement this decision, warning of strict measures in case of violations, up to and including suspension of activity.
Also involved in this process are: Ministry of Economy and Innovation, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, with the aim of protecting consumers and guaranteeing fair competition in the market.
Clarification on excise duty
referred Normative Act No. 1, dated 3.4.2026, if the price of diesel exceeds 220 lek/liter or that of gasoline exceeds 200 lek/liter, the 80% excise tax rate applies.
Given that current prices are below this limit, the excise tax will continue to be applied at the full level, 100%.
