Israel Defense Forces (IDF) airstrikes on Iranian territory have entered a new phase of escalation, targeting a number of strategic targets and eliminating several key figures in the Iranian security apparatus.
According to official reports, the head of intelligence for the Basij militia, Esmail Ahmadi, a figure with an important role in Iran's internal security structures, was killed during the attacks, reports JP.
Along with him, other senior members of this militia were also targeted, including commander Gholamreza Soleimani and his deputy Seyyed Karishi.
In another important development, the spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ali Mohammad Naini, who was considered one of the main propaganda figures of the Iranian regime, was also killed during the same operations.
According to the Israeli military, he had a central role in distributing messages and coordinating with Iran's allied groups in the region.
Attacks have been reported in several cities, including Tehran, Parchin, Kerman, Arak and Bandar-e Lengeh, where according to media sources, powerful explosions and damage to infrastructure have been recorded.
The IDF announced that during one wave of attacks alone, over 130 targets linked to the Iranian regime were hit, including ballistic missile bases, air defense systems and weapons production facilities.
The aim of the operation, according to Israel, is to "maximum reduce Iran's offensive capabilities and expand air superiority."
Meanwhile, Iranian media are also reporting on the consequences in the civilian sector. According to the Tasnim agency, at least 16 civilian vessels were destroyed in the attacks on Bandar-e Lengeh.
These developments come within the context of the escalation of the conflict between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance, which has entered its third week and is expanding on several fronts, including not only military targets, but also strategic infrastructure throughout the region.
