The Minister of State for Local Government, Ervin Demo, stated that territorial reform must be carried out with the involvement of all political parties, emphasizing that the majority remains open to cooperation with the opposition.
In a statement to the media after the government meeting, Demo announced that the Special Commission for Territorial Reform continues its work and that meetings with various stakeholders are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
"The special commission has been meeting this week and next week the meetings with the first guests will begin, among whom I will be. The commission has plenty of time to do its job and I am confident that it will move forward.", he said.
The Minister emphasized that, although the majority has the responsibility to advance reforms, the goal is for this reform not to be unilateral.
"The majority has the responsibility to offer solutions and advance reforms, but we are very open to it being a reform that includes all parties", Demo declared.
He also spoke about the progress of the "Mountain Package", emphasizing that the process is advancing rapidly and in some municipalities, procedures for handling requests are ready.
