Kurti's political advisor attacks Osmani: Blinded by power that does not belong to her, she chose to violate the Constitution

Political tensions in Kosovo increased significantly in Kosovo on Friday after the dissolution of the Parliament. Prime Minister Albin Kurti's political advisor, Jeton Zulfaj, has harshly attacked President Vjosa Osmani, calling her "blinded by power" and accusing her of giving herself powers that do not belong to her.

He also raised questions about the constitutional amendments that the president proposed for the election of the president by the people, saying that they were submitted just a few hours before the start of the session to elect the president.

According to him, if this was a proposal for the good of the republic, Osmani could have made it much earlier during her five-year mandate and not at the last moment.

Zulfaj also said that the constitutional amendment process would not have an immediate effect, as the amendments only enter into force after six months.

He accused the president of choosing, instead of ending her term with dignity, to take an action that, according to him, constitutes a violation of the Constitution and an attack on the Vetëvendosje Movement.

"After five years of Vetëvendosje giving her the opportunity to serve in the highest position of the state, she chose to violate the Constitution as her final act. A dishonorable legacy," he wrote.
