The Ethics Secretariat has decided to suspend the leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, for 20 days from parliamentary activities.
The request for disciplinary action was submitted by the Socialist Party of Albania, which argued that Shehaj continued to block the podium even after his allotted time for speaking had expired.
"After the 2-minute deadline expired, MP Agron Shehaj did not leave the podium, impeding the normal conduct of the session and acting in violation of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly," the SP letter states.
