
Tirana - A 31-year-old man has been arrested by the capital's police for illegally crossing the borders of foreign immigrants.
According to the official announcement, Kreshnik Gaxha was captured on the old Rinas road, while transporting 6 Egyptian immigrants towards Kukës.
After Kukës, the next destination would be Kosovo and then EU countries.
During this operation, the police report that they seized the 31-year-old's car and 2 cell phones as material evidence.

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Illicit Trafficking, as a result of a month-long investigation, pursued with special methods, in coordination with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, to document the criminal activity of a citizen suspected of transporting immigrants, in return for payments, from Tirana to Kukës, with the aim of illegal passage, initially to Kosovo and then to EU countries, finalized the third phase of the "Relay" operation.
During the operation, the suspected perpetrator of this criminal activity, citizen KG, 31 years old, resident of Kukës, was arrested.
In the vehicle driven by this citizen, on the old Rinas road, there were 6 immigrants from Egypt.
In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, investigations are ongoing to identify and bring to criminal responsibility other citizens who may have been involved in this case.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
