Tabaku against discussing the draft budget without the fiscal package: It is a standard that we cannot violate

Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has opposed the way the draft budget was presented at the mayors' conference, emphasizing that it cannot be discussed without the fiscal package that accompanies it.

According to Tabaku, this is an unprecedented precedent in parliamentary history and contradicts established standards for budget transparency and content.

"The draft budget comes with a fiscal package. It has never happened in the parliament that we have had. It has never happened that the draft budget is presented without a fiscal package. The tax changes have been reflected. It is a standard that we cannot violate."

She added that without the fiscal package, the real impact of the budget cannot be understood and a complete analysis of macroeconomic indicators cannot be conducted.

"What are we going to approve here when we don't have a fiscal package? What are we going to approve here? Three years ago we had a very long debate and a very negative precedent from the government, where the government backed down and brought the fiscal package. We cannot start the discussion without the fiscal package. The impact of the fiscal package determines the macro framework and the indicators that are reflected here in the budget." - said Tabaku.
