Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said they are preparing a contract with the United States to supply Ukraine with 25 Patriot air defense systems, reports... Anatolia.
In statements to journalists published by Ukrainian media outlets, including the state-run Ukrinform news agency, Zelenskyy said that Kiev has developed contacts with defense companies regarding air defense in coordination with relevant US authorities.
"We are preparing a contract for 25 'Patriot' systems. I believe this is a very good story, not easy, but long-term," Zelenskyy said, adding that the request was made by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Zelenskyy stressed that there is a queue in the production of 'Patriot' systems that includes countries that have concluded relevant contracts with the manufacturer, due to which Kiev will receive these systems every year in varying numbers.
"The White House can change the order if there is political will. We understand which European countries can give us priority in the order. There is more positivity on this issue. We are working now to get the necessary solutions," said the Ukrainian president.
