The French company Voltalia, an international company also present in the Albanian market through the Karavasta photovoltaic park, already in production, and the Spitalla one, still in procedures, seems to aim to further expand its activity.
For some time now, on the social network Facebook on its official page, the company has activated a call in Albanian that aims to attract individuals or entities interested in renting their land for a long period where the company will implement its solar plant projects.
"The sponsored campaign says: Do you have vacant land that you are not using? We have an offer for you? We offer a competitive rental price for each hectare. Lease term: 30 years.
"Guaranteed long-term income, without cost or risk for you. Become a partner with a renewable energy company," it says in several published photos, which also provide contact information.
Investments in solar energy continue to remain a broad area of interest for businesses with applications continuously submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, although the number of projects analyzed still remains small compared to projects on paper.
Specifically, Karavasta Solar, which is part of Voltalia, which manages the Karavasta plant with a capacity of 140MW, is one of the largest that has been completed and is producing energy by the end of 2023.
Voltalia won the first government auction for Karavastana, offering a price of 24,89 euros per megawatt. According to the agreement, 70 megawatts are allocated for production and sale on the free market and 70 megawatts at a regulated price.
The regulated price lasts for 15 years and will be purchased by the Energy Distribution Operator. As for Spitalla, the competition closed at a price of 29.89 euros/MWh.
The Spitalla Photovoltaic Park will have an installed capacity of 100 MW, of which 70 MW will be purchased by the Electricity Distribution Operator, through a power purchase contract at a predetermined price, and 30 MW will be traded on the free market. But this project has not advanced at the expected pace.
The Karavasta plant produced 258,383 MW of energy last year, accounting for 3.2 percent of net domestic production./Monitor
