Iran on Wednesday executed three men convicted of collaborating with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, and smuggling equipment that was later used in the assassination of a prominent figure. The victim remains unidentified, according to the Iranian judicial agency Mizan, and no other details about the case were given.
Engaged in a shadow war with Israel that lasted for decades before the recent open conflict, Iran has sentenced to death numerous individuals convicted of links to Mossad and facilitating the latter's operations in the country. These range from the assassinations of nuclear scientists to acts of sabotage aimed at undermining Iran's nuclear program.
Iran has also arrested 700 people accused of links to Israel during the 12-day conflict, state-affiliated Nournews reported./Our
