Igli Tare, Milan's sports director, a milestone in his career and Albanian football


Igli Tare has been appointed sporting director of Milan, the most successful Italian club in Europe and the world with 7 Champions Leagues won throughout its history. Before his appointment to the Rossoneri, Tare was sporting director of Lazio for several seasons.

As a footballer, Igli Tare started his career early with the Partizan kids in 1982 when he was just 9 years old. After emigrating to Germany at the age of 19, Tare embarked on a golden career that saw him play as a striker with Karlsruhe, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Kaiserslautern in Germany before returning to Italy where he played with Brescia, Bologna and Lazio.

Tare has scored 74 goals during his career as a club footballer.

With the Albanian national team, Tare has been among the most prominent players, playing 68 matches and scoring 10 goals during a career spanning a decade from 1997-2007.
