In a scathing tweet, Elon Musk called the American USAID a criminal organization that needed to die.
"USAID is a criminal organization. It must die," Musk wrote in the post.
In another post Musk writes that "USAID has paid media organizations to publish their propaganda".
He continued his attacks on USAID, saying it funded research into biological weapons.
"Did you know that USAID, using YOUR tax dollars, funded research into biological weapons, including COVID-19, which killed millions of people?" Musk writes.
Senior USAID officials have been suspended from duty after they physically attempted to stop DOGE (Elon Musk's team) from accessing the Agency's systems.
Two USAID officials, John Voorhees and his deputy, were suspended late Saturday night after they refused to allow DOGE members access to USAID systems. DOGE members threatened to call the police after being denied access. They were trying to access security and personnel files.
Federal officials are concerned that Trump is trying to incorporate USAID within the U.S. State Department as part of an effort to combat government corruption and bloat.
USAID has about 10,000 employees, not including contractors, with two-thirds of them based abroad. 2 USAID staff members were already suspended last week after trying to circumvent President Trump's executive order halting foreign aid.
