Media personality calls on the governor of California: Immediately increase the salaries of firefighters

Kim Kardashian has called for higher wages for firefighters battling the flames in Los Angeles, according to multiple US media reports.

In several posts on her Instagram stories, Kardashian thanked the Los Angeles Fire Department and state agency Cal Fire for "using every ounce of their power to save our community."

"In the 5 fires in Los Angeles, there are hundreds of firefighters who are stuck fighting the fires, risking their lives to save us. I see them as heroes and they get paid next to nothing. I'm calling on Governor Gavin Newsom to do what no governor has done in four decades and raise firefighter pay at a rate that honors a human being who risks life to save our lives and our homes." - she wrote on social networks.

The fires in California have been raging for six days and have so far claimed the lives of 24 people, not counting material damage.
