The Russian Embassy in the US denies allegations of interference in the presidential election

Russia's embassy in the United States has rejected accusations by US authorities linking Moscow to bomb threats against some US polling stations and allegations of disinformation about this year's presidential election. The embassy has described the accusations as "slanderous and baseless", calling them part of a campaign of "political hysteria" in the US.

The FBI confirmed on Tuesday that bomb threats addressed to polling places in several US states were linked to email addresses that appeared to be registered in Russia. However, US authorities claimed that none of the threats were credible, but they raised concerns and caused the temporary closure of some polling stations.

In another reported incident, US intelligence has been investigating a fake video purporting to show a person destroying mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania. Investigations revealed that the video was part of a disinformation operation allegedly orchestrated by Russian operatives.

The Russian embassy reacted by denying any involvement of Moscow in these activities and called it an "attempt to create a bad image of Russia". She added that she had not received any information or request from the US authorities regarding the ongoing investigations.

A recent report from CNN has identified links between the activities of the Russian "troll factory," which gained notoriety for interfering in the 2016 presidential election, and a new disinformation campaign aimed at influencing American and Western public opinion. This operation is using advanced techniques to spread false information and undermine confidence in the American electoral system.
