The police of Mirdita have arrested a 22-year-old man, after he was wanted by the Italian authorities.
Official sources from the police informed that the citizen with the initials GJ fell behind the bars

The coded "Hidden" police operation is finalized, developed by Fast Albania, the services of the Mirdita Police Station, the Narcotics Investigation Section DVP Lezhë and in coordination with Interpol Tirana. A 22-year-old wanted by Italian justice, who was hiding in Mirdita, was arrested and put in handcuffs. The 22-year-old accused of being a member of a criminal group in the field of drug trafficking.
In the wake of successive operations developed for the capture of internationally wanted persons, based on police intelligence that these citizens are hiding by taking refuge in the territory of the Lezhë district, the services of the Mirdita Police Station, the Narcotics Investigation Section at the Lezhë DVP as well as in cooperation and coordination of work with the special unit for the capture of wanted citizens "FAST Albania", in the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the State Police, have finalized the coded police operation "Hidden"
As a result, in an apartment in Rrëshen, they caught and provisionally arrested for the purpose of extradition, a 22-year-old GJ citizen, a resident of Mirdita, announced as an international wanted person after the Court of Preliminary Investigations in Milan, Italy, with a criminal decision dated 03.11.2023, has assigned to him the security measure of "imprisonment", accused of the criminal offenses of "Criminal Organization" and "Trafficking of narcotic substances carried out in cooperation", provided by the articles of the Italian Criminal Code. Interpol Tirana is following the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy.
