The new judicial map, the Chief Prosecutor of 'Laws': We have not encountered serious problems in its operation, the infrastructure remains a challenge

During his report to the Laws Committee this afternoon, Prosecutor General Olsian Çela spoke about the need for funding support to build the new infrastructure, which has become necessary with the implementation of the new judicial map.

"Both the appellate and district prosecutor's offices, the process has gone smoothly and we have not had any serious problems in their functioning, but the challenge remains the creation of infrastructure in the next 5 years. So at the end of the 5 years, we must take measures to ensure that the spaces we have are sufficient for the normal functioning of the offices."

"Some of the offices that are problematic, I can say the prosecution and the court of Tirana, Durres, we have a problem in Fier. We are working with Dibra, Saranda and Lezha to find solutions. Without a doubt, these require funds," said Cela

As for Tirana, Çela said that he has asked the municipality for a construction site.

""The most acute problem for several years will remain Tirana. From the contacts we have had with the Tirana municipality, a commitment has been made to provide us with a construction site so that we can have a large new functional building for the prosecution and the court. We are in the first phase. The commitment is there, but the problem remains the funds necessary to invest in these buildings," Cela continued.

In the Chief Prosecutor's assessment, the new judicial map is working.

"We are cooperating with the Ministry of Justice and the KLP. As for the situation of the prosecutor's offices that have been affected by the judicial map, the process has continued normally.he said

With the implementation of the new judicial map, there was a significant reduction in courts and prosecutors' offices and the transfer of work to the largest prosecutors' offices and courts in the country.
