Police have arrested the head of the Kallmet Administrative Unit after he was involved in the incident in which he and the suspected perpetrator Altin Marku were injured.
Meanwhile, yesterday, Altin Marku was arrested for wounding Besnik Simoni, who also had a bullet in his arm, which has raised suspicions among the police that there was an exchange of gunfire between them.
Besnik Simon was notified of his arrest while receiving treatment at the hospital.
In its statement, the police say that the citizens clashed over weak motives and shot each other with pistols.
Authorities seized 1 pistol firearm, with a 6-round magazine, which is suspected to have been used by citizen AM, as well as two vehicles.

Following the investigative and operational actions carried out to clarify the circumstances of the event that occurred on 01.04.2022, in Kallmet in Lezha, where as a result of a conflict with firearms, the head of the Kallmet Administrative Unit, citizen BS, was injured of the Police, after several hours of research, made it possible to catch and arrest the citizen AM, who at the time of the arrest was found to have been wounded by a firearm, for this reason he was transported to the Tirana Trauma Hospital.
As a result of in-depth investigative actions, it became possible to clarify the circumstances of the incident, which resulted in the following:
On 01.04.2022, at around 13:15, in the village of Kallmet, Lezhë, after a conflict for weak motives, the aforementioned citizens fired pistols at each other and as a result, citizen BS was injured, who, after receiving first aid at the Lezhë Regional Hospital, was transported to the Tirana Trauma Hospital, where he is in serious condition, while citizen AM immediately left the scene, hiding for several hours, until he was located and arrested by the Police services.
At the end of the actions, the citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
AM, 41 years old, resident of the village of Kallmet-Lezha, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder", attempted murder and "Unlicensed Production and Possession of Weapons and Ammunition";
BS, 42 years old, resident of the village of Kallmet, Lezhë, with the duty of administrator of the Kallmet Administrative Unit, Lezhë Municipality, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder", attempted murder and "Unlicensed Production and Possession of Weapons and Ammunition".
The following were seized as material evidence:
1 firearm, a pistol, with a 6-round magazine, which is suspected to have been used by citizen AM, as well as two vehicles.
Work continues to find the other pistol weapon used during the conflict.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office of the Lezhë Judicial District, for further actions.
