"Vogue" brings in a short summary everything known so far about the new series of "Sex and the City", which will be called "And just like that".
If there's one rule that all of Hollywood seems to have gotten the message, it's this: "Holiday aughts show" plus "reboot" equals "TV magic." That's what happened with the Gossip Girl reboot, and now, the ladies of Sex and the City (plus more than a few gentlemen—hello, Stanford Blatch) are getting the revival treatment, too, in a brand new series titled Just Like That. Below, find everything we know so far about the Sex and the City reboot.
What will the new series be about?
It will revolve around Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) up to their old tricks, namely, trying to "have it all" in a big city. So far, we know that Carrie is divorced from Mr. Big, plus she's a podcast host, of course, because this is 2021. COVID-19 will also be in the series.
Who is projected to appear beyond Parker, Nixon and Davis?
Mr. Big will return, of course, and so will Stanford (Willie Garson) and Charlotte's husband, Harry (Evan Handler); Carriet's ex-partner Aidani (John Corbett), Miranda's husband - aka "my dream man - Steve" (David Eigenberg) etc. Plus, everyone's kids! Like next to adults! Strange! Sara Ramírez, Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman will also appear in original roles.
Where will the new series be broadcast?
The newest installment of Sex and the City will air on HBO Max.
When will it premiere?
No date has been set yet, but the news was made official by HBO Max in January and production began in New York City this spring, so hopefully we won't have long to wait.
Last but not least, will Kim Cattrall reprise her role as Samantha Jones?
No, and believe us when we say that this constitutes "a crime against nature". However, the decision not to appear is Cattrall's.
