The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, made a statement 12 days before the elections, addressing the voters and how they should be guided by the political offers.
Ambassador Kim says that Albanians have had impunity due to corruption and criminals in the parliament.
For this, Kim called that if Albanians want criminals, let them vote for them, while if they want change, let them vote for change.
"Albanian voters are the first best hope. This is the basis of any democracy, the voters. So I think people have been bombarded into believing that they have no power. The fact that someone is trying to buy your vote should show that you are not powerless. This is your power. Your vote is your power. The Albanians I meet everywhere in the country tell me that corruption has come to the tip of their noses; impunity has come under his nose; it has come under the nose of the criminals who sit in the parliament. Well, this is the moment. Show me with actions, show with your actions that you are serious. It cannot be that you ask me for my opinion like the United States, I give it to you and then you continue to do the same. If you want change, vote for change.
