The President of the DP, Lulzim Basha, today received the Acting President of Kosovo, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani.
During the joint conference, Basha declared that with the DP in power, there will be a radical change in the approach of the official Tirana towards Kosovo, where Kosovo-Albania relations will be put in the foreground.
"I have the special pleasure and honor to welcome Vjosa Osman. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for the very warm welcome during my visit in July to Pristina. Briefly, I want to dwell on 3 of them, the necessity for a unified Tirana-Pristina position in the international arena regarding everything related to Kosovo. I want to repeat my promise and that of the Democratic Party that after April 25, this will be a radical change in the approach of Tirana, in putting Albania-Kosovo relations in the foreground"- declared Basha
Basha further promised that if he comes to power, the first decision he will make will be the removal of the beam on the National Road.
"I am proud that we have done everything for the independence of Kosovo and its national recognition. I am worried that in a difficult time, Pristina does not have the support it should have from Albania. This will change. The new assembly will approve the resolution to condemn the Serbian genocide in Pristina. We cannot allow history to be rewritten by the aggressors. In this context, we will continue to strongly support the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue, where the goal and end will be the mutual recognition of the two states. This brings me to the second issue we discussed, the need to eliminate official and unofficial barriers that continue to hinder the economic integration of our two countries. One of the first decisions will be the removal of the beam on Kombi road, and the negotiation for not imposing any toll on the 'Ibrahim Rugova' highway. We are representatives of a new political generation, the future has the face of the youth of Albania and Kosovo", continued the chief democrat.
Even during the meeting with the head of the opposition, Osmani said that the massacres in Serbia were beyond any imagination of a normal person, demanding the punishment of the genocide from Albania.
"Let's not let Serbia succeed, because they are falsifying history. History happened before the eyes of the whole world. Footage of the carnage was recorded from around the world. We do not need to exaggerate what happened. Even as it was, it was terrible. It was beyond anything a normal human could imagine. That's why we should all talk about those crimes, because without knowing the truth, without having justice, none of our countries will be able to move forward and we cannot have peace and stability in the region", said Vjosa Osmani.
Cooperation between Kosovo and Albania, Osmani said, should not have barriers.
"It is my primary duty to speak with the voice given to me by the citizens of Kosovo, to present the legitimate tasks and to ask for sincere cooperation between Kosovo and Albania, a cooperation that should not have barriers or misunderstandings. Even if they are created, let's work together to eliminate them, because above all we are Albanians"said Osmani.
