Renowned director Muharrem Fejzo, who was affected by Covid-87, passes away at the age of 19

The bitter news was announced to the public by his son, Joe Fejzo, through a post on social media.

"Farewell, Grandpa. Rest in peace in the arms of the great God, and all your loved ones up there. I'm sorry I couldn't caress you, and I couldn't give you a glass of water, you don't deserve such a departure. Our artist. Our friend. The beloved father. The husband of life", writes the director's son.

Muharrem Fejzo was born in Kolonjë in 1933. He graduated from the Artistic Lyceum for sculpture in 1954 and initially started working as a set designer in the operettas "Rusalka", "Nusja e sukira".

Fejzo has created several busts in Albania, such as that of "Lady Çure", etc.

In 1966, he graduated as an actor and then as a director from the Higher Institute of Arts. He was also the director of the House of Culture in the city of Kukës.

In 1972, Muharrem Fejzo, together with director Fehmi Hoshafi, made the film "Captain", the first comedy that continues to be considered today as one of the masterpieces of Albanian cinema.

During his career, Fejzo directed over a dozen other films, among which can be mentioned: Operation "Fire", "The Teacher", "The Living Wall" and "The Grand Master".
