The start of the new school year in the country, the deputy minister tells about the scenarios that will be followed

As two weeks are left from the beginning of the new school season, the Deputy Minister of Education has given some clarifications regarding the scenarios that have been studied and will be used by the authorities.

In a direct link to the column 'Opinion' in News24, Nina Guga said that the ministry has taken all measures for the start of the school.

"The first scenario is the beginning of the school year in schools. Depending on the schools and the number of students, we may be able to resume learning in these environments, but strictly implementing the protocol.

In the first scenario, variants may be specified. A number of schools that maintain social distancing and in these schools, normal lessons with full hours of 45 minutes will be implemented. Another variant will be for schools that have a larger number of students that will require the implementation of the protocol, classes of no more than 20 students and this will require doubling the number of classes and passing the school with more than one shift. There will be schools that will be affected by two shifts, but there may also be schools with three shifts, because even under normal conditions, they used to teach in two shifts." - said the number two of the ministry.

She also showed what will happen if a student is infected with Covid-19, stressing that for all cases the protocol defined earlier will be followed.

Regarding the wearing of masks, Guga said that from the first to the fifth grade it is recommended but not mandatory, while from the sixth grade and above, wearing it will be mandatory.
