Tensions in Britain, right-wing protesters take to the streets and fight with left-wing rivals (Video)

Right-wing demonstrators have taken to the streets of London, vowing to "protect" historic landmarks from left-wing protesters. The clash between the parties has also led to clashes with police.

After days of unrest involving protests against racism and police brutality over the death of George Floyd in the US, right-wing groups took to the streets of London on Saturday.

Numerous monuments, some linked to Britain's colonial past, have been vandalized in London and elsewhere in recent days.

Several statues, including one of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill outside Parliament, have been vandalized by protesters and have therefore been taken under protection by the authorities.

While the demonstration was peaceful for a while, some protesters began to clash with the police, who have had an increased presence in recent days, especially in the center of the British capital.

Footage from the scene shows a reporter with a bloody nose being walked away from police as protesters heckle him.
