Due to the crisis created by the coronavirus, Rita Ora's mother, Vera, has once again joined the British Health Service (NHS).
Vera Ora is a former GP and qualified psychiatrist who worked with mental health patients but retired years ago.
Rita has boasted about her mother's decision to join the ranks of health workers, saying that she remains a heroine in her eyes.
The singer of Albanian origin told the magazine Hello: "My mother has always been my hero, but this pandemic has honestly made her a superheroine in my eyes. She is so brave and has been through so much herself, but her generosity in helping others only cements what I know my mom is capable of. I'm so glad the rest of the world can now see this too. All the NHS doctors and nurses are my heroes.”- said Rita.
The day before, Vera Ora made a publication on social networks, where she appeared wearing a uniform. "Duty calls! Please stay at home as much as you can, we are doing our best." she wrote next to the photo.
She also had a piece of advice for all married people, as a psychiatrist.
"Advice for married people and couples: While you are in isolation, stop arguing and fighting. This madness will soon pass! Keep families close and spread love", she wrote.
In a statement for the magazine, the 55-year-old said that it is her duty to help others.
"I love my job and I want to do my best. It is my role and duty to help others. Nothing will stop me, unless I feel good about doing the job. These are challenging times and never before have I had to offer more compassion and support to other colleagues. I have witnessed heroism from all NHS staff, from doctors and nurses to porters and cleaners in busy, stressful and dangerous environments."
