The Albanian athlete Luiza Gega ranks second in the 3000 meters race in Dortmund. Gega crossed the finish line with a time of 8 minutes, 52 seconds and 59 hundredths, leaving behind an early rival like Germany's Gesa Krause.
But she was defeated by Melissa Courtney-Bryant who also won the race with a time of 8 minutes, 49 seconds and 78 hundredths.
The Albanian championship is preparing for other major goals, such as the European championship in Paris and the Olympic Games in Tokyo, activities that will take place during the summer.
We recall that Gega finished ninth in the World Cup in Doha and vice-champion of Europe in the 2016 championship in Amsterdam.
This Sunday, another Albanian athlete, Redia Dauti, was declared runner-up of the U20 Balkans in 1500 meters in closed halls in the championship held in Istanbul.
