The country's President Ilir Meta has republished the letter addressed to the Speaker of the Parliament Gramoz Ruçi. The head of state, while appreciating the importance of the establishment of the Constitutional Court, emphasizes that the letter addressed to Ruçi should be read with great patience and care by the deputies as well.
"Dear citizens!
Appreciating the extraordinary importance of establishing the Constitutional Court as soon as possible, solely in respect of the Constitution, which divides the responsibilities and the order of exercising these responsibilities by each institution, I am making public the letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Gramoz Ruçi, on this very important issue.
Likewise, it is imperative that all MPs read this letter with patience and care before exercising their responsibilities.", writes Meta.
In this letter, Meta underlines the fact that it is Parliament's turn to elect the next member and only then is it up to the institution of the President to make his selection, according to the law.
The President says that despite the concern he expressed about the manner and timing of submitting candidate lists by the Judicial Appointments Council to the appointing bodies, the Chairman of the Judicial Appointments Council has again failed to respect this constitutional obligation.
The final list of candidates for judges at the Constitutional Court has been published in the official gazette. The Judicial Appointments Council has announced that the first on the list is the legal advisor at the Constitutional Court, Arta Vorpsin, who was evaluated with 89.642 points, while the list then continues with Fiona Papajorgji with 88.785 points, Elsa Toska with 85.428 points and Marsida Xhaferllari with 82.000 points.
