The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, visited the residents of Unaza e Re this afternoon, joining their protest against the demolition of homes and the project to build the work.
Basha announced that he has signed a contract of trust with the residents, which means that the DP commits to reviewing the project in accordance with the public interest within two months of taking office.
""Within 2 months from the moment when the Democratic Party of Albania and the united opposition will be the governing political majority, it will review the project for the expansion of the New Ring Road and the diversion of the Lana River, and, in accordance with the public interest, will undertake any measure that is necessary to ensure the development of the area according to the community's interest and the compensation, according to the market price, of any private property affected by the revised project." – states the contract signed by opposition leader Lulzim Basha and the residents of the New Ring Road and the Lana River in the section where it will be diverted.
