Minister Besim Beqaj submits his resignation to Ramush Haradinaj

The Minister of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Government of Kosovo, Besim Beqaj, has submitted his resignation from this position to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj.

Beqaj's move comes a day after the leader of the PDK, Kadri Veseli, of which Beqaj is also a member, called for all officials with indictments for corruption to vacate their positions in the country's institutions.

Beqaj is accused of violating the equal status of citizens and residents of the Republic of Kosovo.

In a press conference, Beqaj said that the criminal offense for which he is being tried does not have elements of corruption.

"I am convinced that these indictments are unfounded in facts and legal arguments and that justice will prove this. I believe that justice will prove my innocence. The indictment I face has a mountain of flaws that was initially applied as selective justice. During my political engagement, I have been guided by two fundamental divisions: law enforcement and professionalism." tha Becaj.

PDK Chairman Kadri Veseli said that the decision to remove people under indictment from public positions does not prejudice the guilt of officials of this political party, who are in judicial proceedings, but provides an opportunity for justice to do its job.
