The residents of Astir have again taken to the streets today to protest the "New Ring" project. Democratic Party MPs Flamur Noka, Orjola Pampuri, Klevis Balliu and Dashamir Shehi are also supporting them in the protest.
Residents of Astir are demanding compensation for their homes that will be demolished due to the project at market value. Residents have blocked the road from "Sheshi Shqiponja" to "Pallati me Shigjeta" today.
"They want our houses", "Rama is a thief", "Mafia project", "Erion Veliaj is here, we decide", these are some of the calls of the residents of the area.
"He has no right to take our money. We emigrated and built these apartments. We are not leaving, we want our rights," said a citizen.
