
President Meta has addressed the Ministry of Defense with 14 questions regarding General Sandër Lleshi, who is currently Deputy Minister of Defense, as the head of state did not decree it.
These are issues related to Lleshi during the time when he was an official at the Ministry of Defense.
Meta has authorized the publication of non-confidential questions regarding the case in question. This is done to inform public opinion and in the interest of transparency.
"In order to inform public opinion and in the interest of transparency, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, authorizes the publication of non-confidential questions addressed to the Ministry of Defense regarding the proposal for the appointment of Lleshaj as Minister of Interior of the Republic of Albania. The President of the Republic stands by the conviction that there can be no functional institution outside a functional Constitution." – it is stated in the Presidency's response.
Meta did not decree Sandër Lleshi as Minister of Interior, and after that, Prime Minister Rama warned that he would not give up his name and resent it for decree to the head of state, this time with an accompanying report, in response to the president's requests.
